What information does this site ask you to provide?
This site does not ask you to create an account or submit personal health information. Blog search runs in your browser. If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. See Analytics and cookies below.
Search terms can appear in the page URL. Avoid putting personal details into a search, especially if you intend to share that URL. The hosted site and any external services have their own technical processing and notices.
Analytics and cookies
We only use Google Analytics if you click Accept in the cookie banner. Until then, the site does not load any Google code and does not set analytics cookies. If you click Decline, nothing is sent to Google.
What is collected. If you accept, Google Analytics records the pages you view, the website and language version you are on, the type of page, roughly where you are (country or region), your device and browser type, and a few actions: viewing a data box or patient-question topic, following a "keep exploring" link, and tapping an app download button. We use this to see which content is useful and to improve the site. We do not send your search terms, your name or any health information you might hold to Google Analytics. Google Analytics does not log or store IP addresses. Google signals and advertising features are switched off.
Cookies. Google Analytics sets the cookies _ga and _ga_<ID>, which distinguish visitors and sessions. They expire after up to 2 years. Your banner choice itself is stored in your browser's local storage, not in a cookie.
Who processes the data. Google Analytics is provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the United States. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Google Analytics keeps the data for [retention period to be confirmed].
Legal basis. We rely on your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and, for visitors in Germany, Section 25(1) TDDDG).
Changing your mind. You can withdraw or give consent at any time using Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. When you withdraw consent, the Google Analytics cookies are deleted and nothing more is sent.
Does the site contain identifiable patient records?
The site displays anonymized, aggregated topic figures and quoted questions from the supplied analytics export. It does not include identifiable patient records or a connection to the underlying patient database.
Read where our data comes from to understand the export and its limitations. The mama health app commitment describes the app's approach to consent, anonymization and other uses of experiences.
What happens when you follow an external link?
An external website handles your visit under its own privacy information. The diabetes resources page explains each service's geographic focus and opens external websites in a new tab. App buttons let you choose an official app store or the mama health web app.
What still needs to be completed before publication?
The full privacy notice, including the data controller and operator details, still needs to be completed and legally reviewed. The legal notice currently contains placeholder operator information. Read about this content hub for the status of the written health content.
